« Stephany Ortega Trio » is a new ensemble specializing in the music of the great Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, one of the most illustrious composers of the second half of the 20th century and creator of « Tango Nuevo ». Accompanied by exceptional musicians such as the Belgian accordionist and bandoneist Christophe Delporte and the French double bass player Adrien Tyberghein, great specialists in the Piazzolla repertoire, they have created a vocal and instrumental program that is both authentic and passionate, composed of the most beautiful 'tangos canción' and 'Milongas'. The eclectic formation of the members of the trio, as well as its so original arrangements, allow Piazzolla's songs to navigate between classical, popular and contemporary music, with a little pop and electronic touch, which blends wonderfully with the voice, both classic and modern, of Stephany.
Astor Piazzolla: Tango & Passion!
Currently the “Stephany Ortega Trio” is preparing its first album: “Astor Piazzolla: Tango & Passion! which will be released in 2024. The varied music of Piazzolla, its surprising sounds, its rhythmic richness, make his work an inexhaustible source of emotions and sensuality. With his training steeped in classical, jazz and contemporary music, his compositions span all genres and all generations.
After two internationally acclaimed albums, “Return” (Etcetera Records) and “American Soul: from Broadway to Paris” (Hänssler Classic), the latter nominated for the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), soprano Stephany Ortega continues to highlighting its Latin American roots, blurring the line between classical and popular music, while taking advantage of the best assets of each genre. The "Stephany Ortega Trio" will make you discover, with charm and originality, the extraordinary universe of Astor Piazzolla's "Tango Nuevo"!
